Details of fstab file

Red Hat Linux reads /etc/fstab file during system booting process to mount directories and partitions in different ways. There are six fields in this file, which are described here under:


/etc/fstab fields:



Note: With noauto option, the directory listed in /etc/fstab remains inactive, until mount command is used after the system restarts.
