Diagnosing LAN

Switch -a also can be used with this command. It will display all available connections. Local address column, as shown in following figure, shows those names and numbers which correspond to TCP/IP ports. In Foreign address column, we can see ssh, telnet, http connections, which are made between local computer and others.

Using ping

This command is used to send the packets to other computer and then it waits for return packet from there. Pinging other computer from this system, using the IP address will show the output as follows:
