Troubleshooting wireless LAN

We can use iwlist command as follows:

# iwlist eth0 rate

eth0 4 available bit rates :

1 Mb/s

2 Mb/s

5.5Mb/s

11 Mb/s

The above rate parameter displays the available transmission rates for wireless interface. We can see the available rates shown to 1, 2, 5.5 and 11Mbps for interface eth0.

# iwlist eth0 keys

eth0 2 key sizes : 40, 104bits

4 keys available
