Bus Topology
In this topology all the computers are connected one after another forming a long chain. The cable used is thin Ethernet or thin coaxial cable. This was one of the old topologies, in which a TEE shaped connector used to be attached to NIC of each LAN card. At the two ends of the bus two terminators (of 50 ohms) are connected.
Advantage of this topology is that it is easy to implement and extend.
Disadvantages of this topology are: A single break can disable the entire network. Maintenance cost gets higher in the longer term and its performance gets degraded as more computers are added.
