1. Boot the system from Linux CD #1, after changing the boot sequence in BIOS for first boot device to be CD.
2. At boot prompt press enter to install the Linux in graphical mode immediately or it will automatically start after 60 seconds. From we can ask Anaconda to take us to the rescue mode by typing “linux rescue” or we can ask it to go to the text mode installation by typing “linux text”
We also can go to installer boot option by pressing F2. Here we have few other options which have been described little later.
3. After checking for the hardware welcome screen will appear. Press next.
4. Select the appropriate language (English), Press next.
5. Select appropriate keyboard for the system (US English), Press next.
6. On the disk partitioning setup screen select “manually partition with Disk Druid”, Press next.
7. Select the free space and press “new” button.
8. Select mount point (/).
9. Select file system type (ext 3).
10. The size in MB “5000”.
11. Select “fixed size” radio button. (Assuming that we have free space after extended partition)
12. Place a check mark on force to be primary partition, Press OK.
13. Again select the free space, Press New.
14. Select file system type “swap”.
15. Define size in MB (500).
16. Select fix size radio button. (Here also assuming that we have free space after extended partition)
17. Place a check mark on force to be primary partition, Press OK, Press next.
18. Select the desired boot loader (select Windows or other if it is dual boot else Linux. We also can protect our boot loader by assigning a password, which we will not do here), Press next.
